Guess what everyone?! Its National Margarita Day aka another excuse/ reason to drink! Now of course here in Mexico everyday is a good day for a Margarita but those who don’t drink Margarita’s very often today is the day to change it up a bit! Now either get up and go to your local Mexican restaurant and slurp a few down or follow one of our recipes to make a delicious margarita at home!

For those of you who did not get to attend the Super Bowl, here is my recap of my 4 days in New Orleans and of course the game itself!

I decided to arrive on Thursday morning so I could get the full New Orleans and Super Bowl weekend experience. From the moment I arrived the energy and excitement was in the air! Mardi Gras beads were given to everyone who got off the plane. Besides the obvious football fans, the airport was filled with crazy characters and Mardi Gras themed excitement. To the right is an example of some of the interesting people I saw at the airport. They called themselves the New Orleans Voodoo Couple.

After leaving the airport, I went to my hotel to unpack and unwind. Thursday night was an amazing night to remember! I started off going to The Bourbon House Restaurant where there was a Football Players VIP Party happening. The key word here is VIP! The Bourbon House was swarming with football players casually drinking cocktails and mingling with friends and fans. I met a few different players and made a lot of good connections. A few players include Matt Light, Demarco Murray, Jason Witten, The Gronkowski brothers, Ray Rice, and Larry Fitzgerald.

After the Bourbon House, I headed to the EA Sports Madden Super Bowl party. Once again celebrities and football players were everywhere just casually mingling and having a good time. Football players were competing against eachother in Madden on big flat screen tvs. A typical New Orleans jazz band performed during the event and afterwards the infamous Lil Wayne got on stage and made quite a performance. The crowd was jumping and excitement was in the air. A few of the players I met at the Madden party include Drew Brees, the Gronkowski brothers (again), Andre Roberts, and Victor Cruz. The trip has been amazing so far and I was only on day 1.

On Friday I decided I had to go and check out infamous Bourbon Street. I went and had lunch at an amazing authentic New Orleans restaurant and then of course I walked around trying all their famous drinks like the 190 Octane, Hurricane, and Hand Grenade. There were some CRAZY looking people running around Bourbon St. The funniest person of all had to be the guy you see to the right! After an amazing day on Bourbon St. I went back to my hotel to rest and get ready for the night. I went to the Playboy Leather & Lace party. I was a bit tired from the night before and the day I had but I stuck through it and had a fun night dancing, drinking, and meeting fun new people. I called it a bit of an early night and headed home so I could rest up for whatever Saturday had in store for me.

Saturday once again I felt the need to head to Bourbon St., once again Bourbon was packed and tons of fun. I spent a few hours on Bourbon Street and then I headed back to my hotel to prepare for the night. I got ready and headed to the Maxim Magazine party. The Maxim party was amazing. There was so much fun energy and excitement in the air and of course tons of celebrities everywhere. Several different dj’s performed including Afrojack. After the Maxim party was over Afrojack had an after hours party going on, which of course I had to attend and it was well worth it. Afrojack spun until the wee hours of the morning.

Finally, the day everyone has been waiting for, SUPER BOWL SUNDAY has arrived. I woke up jumping from excitement. I headed to the stadium around 3. There were thousands of fans jumping and screaming trying to get into the stadium. Once I arrived to my seat the excitement and emotions were flooding my body, I was close to tears of joy. i was originally in the 500s section but I ended up sneaking into the 100 level seating where one of my friends was sitting (hehe). The game was electrifying and everyone in the stadium was going wild. The halftime show was incredible. Beyonce had an amazing performance. The black out was quite interesting, everyone was just confused and laughing. Like how could the Super Dome just die on us?! Everyone just made the black out an excuse to go get more drinks and mingle. Once the game finally came back the 49ers came out kicking ass out of nowhere! That was quite a shock for me. In the end though the Ravens came through and won! YAY Go Ravens!

Overall my trip was just amazing! New Orleans, Bourbon Street, Football Players, Super Bowl Parties, and of course the most amazing sporting event ever, THE SUPER BOWL!
